Bowdens Local is an online shop, set up to provide people in Dorset with regular deliveries of quality local produce.  Tim and Lisa Bowden live, with their children, John and Hannah, at Higher Came Farm, just south of Dorchester. They have been involved in the farming and food industry for the past twenty years.
Over that time we have had first hand experience of the changes that have occurred in the production and supply of our food and the impact it is having on our environment and the local economy.
Global warming and the ever increasing pressure on the planets natural resources has led us to the conclusion that many of the current systems of food production and supply are unsustainable. Our aims and objectives are: - to provide our customers with easy, regular access to a wide range of great value local produce.
- to enhance the shopping experience by providing a high quality, convenient service.
- to provide suppliers and producers of local food with a fair price for their produce.
- to enhance the environment by reducing traffic congestion and food miles and by supporting sustainable food production and farming.
We work with suppliers who support our aims and objectives.
We believe our customers should have access to a wide range of products. We also believe they should be able to choose which products to buy and which systems of production they wish to support. To this end we aim to sell products that come from a variety of high quality, provenance suppliers.
We hope that Bowdens Local will be able to play a small part in providing us all with a brighter, more sustainable future.
